MercyMe: A Renewed Perspective Post-Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted MercyMe, reshaping their album release plans and halting their touring schedule. Frontman Bart Millard expressed that the experience fostered a deeper appreciation for their music and performances. He noted that the band now approaches tours with a mindset of gratitude, treating each show as if it could be their last. This shift in attitude has led to a more joyful atmosphere backstage, where they celebrate every moment, including mistakes, rather than focusing solely on perfection.
Despite facing uncertainty during the pandemic, MercyMe has emerged revitalized after nearly three decades in the industry. Their breakthrough came with the iconic song "I Can Only Imagine," which propelled them into mainstream success. With nine albums released and numerous accolades, including being named Billboard's Christian artist of the decade for 2000-2009, the band continues to thrive. They are currently touring to promote their latest album, "Inhale/Exhale," featuring an elaborate production designed to offer fans a memorable experience.

MercyMe Anaheim Concert reviews
Disappointed
We were in the front row of the risers and the sound seemed over amplified. We could not understand Mercy Me’s words. Maybe there was bounce off the walls of the arena that made it seem too loud. Recordings of the concert on our phones were much better than the live music. And there seemed to be an odor like mold coming from the seats? The performance was somewhat disappointing as we love their music but the graphics weren’t impressive. Chris Tomlin was better but seemed more of a show than a worship which i think is what we expected. Also we already give to the cause of World Vision so that presentation seemed overlong.
